This is a phishing attempt first reported to CSULB ITS on June 13, 2017.

Subject:  Email Server upgrade Message.



The fraudulent email was sent by an @csulb email account which has been compromised.  The email notifies recipients to click on a link to upgrade their email.  The link goes to a fraudulent page which looks like the Outlook Web App (OWA) login page. 

Intent of the Email

The sender is attempting to capture email account password information for their own malicious purposes. 

Action(s) Taken

The offending phishing page has been blocked from being accessed while on the campus network. The compromised CSULB email account is being properly addressed by following established security protocols.
